Play
A little mischief. A lot of laughter.
Laugh, improvise, tease and create. Rediscover the freedom of not needing every moment to be useful.

A four-day couples retreat for play,
friendship, connection and intimacy.
Between careers, children, parents, in-laws and caregiving, you become many things to many people. Somewhere among all your roles, time and privacy for the two of you keep getting pushed aside.
Somewhere inside all of that is the couple who laughed for no reason, stayed curious, flirted, surprised one another and made ordinary moments feel like their own.
Humsafar is a pause from the practical partnership of everyday life. A space to experience each other again through play, conversation, movement, imagination, touch, stillness and time.
Away from the roles that run your life.
Back to the two people who started it all.
You love each other. You show up. And perhaps you recognise a little of yourselves here.
You talk every day. Mostly about what needs to get done.
Screens, errands and family plans tend to fill it.
Affection is still there. Spontaneity, a little less so.
To feel closer, without making the relationship another problem to solve.
You don’t need another serious conversation.
Sometimes you need a different kind of time together.
A thoughtfully paced journey through four pillars. Play loosens routine. Friendship renews curiosity. Connection restores attention. Intimacy deepens everything you can share. The full itinerary stays a surprise.
Laugh, improvise, tease and create. Rediscover the freedom of not needing every moment to be useful.
Meet the companion inside the partner. The person whose stories, perspective, humour and presence you genuinely enjoy.
Notice each other, listen with curiosity and make space for moments in which you both feel seen.
Explore emotional, intellectual, physical and contemplative closeness. Let your partner meet more of you, with warmth, consent and dignity.
You’ll find your way back to each other as playmates, friends and lovers.
Closer on every count. Built to last.Shared creativity. Guided conversations. Couple presence practices.
Leisurely meals, social time and space to simply be together.

Less to manage.
More to live.
Enough structure to hold the experience. Enough space to rest, talk and let it unfold.
Settle in. Exhale. Meet the small group you’ll share these four days with. An easy, welcoming beginning.
Movement, humour, charm and shared creativity. A chance to be less predictable with each other.
Fresh perspectives and familiar stories. Personal time for each couple with the hosts where you receive evidence based insights.
Attention, touch, breath and stillness. Emotional depth, with space for moments that stay between you.
Together time, felt memories and effective, meaningful choices to carry into your everyday life.
This is the emotional journey, not a day-by-day activity schedule.
For married couples and committed partners. Both partners aged 28–45 (but we’re flexible 😉!)
Because the best love stories are the ones both people keep choosing to write every day.
Because togetherness is not by chance, it is by choice.
Because you want to feel loved. On purpose, with intention, the whole time.
Because somewhere between EMIs and errands, you forgot how to flirt.
Because ‘we’re fine’ and ‘we’re thriving’ are not the same thing.
Because your relationship doesn’t need fixing, it needs attention.
No forced sharing. No embarrassing performances. Nothing overtly sexual. This is a couples retreat, not couples therapy or corporate team-building.
Prachi brings a clinical understanding of how relationship patterns form, how emotional safety is protected and what allows meaningful change. Udit brings mindfulness, conscious relationship work and an experiential approach to attention, play and embodied connection. Together, they translate relationship science into experiences that feel light, human and usable in everyday life.

Prachi’s professional expertise helps people understand themselves and their relationships with greater depth, clarity and compassion. At Humsafar, her experience shapes the emotional intelligence, safety and dignity of the retreat, without turning the experience into therapy. She brings a perceptive, grounded presence to the conversations and moments that ask couples to slow down, notice and meet one another more fully.

Udit works with couples to create aliveness through attention, shared experience and everyday practice. At Humsafar, he brings structure, playfulness and embodied presence to the retreat. His approach makes room for humour, action, contemplation and the quieter forms of connection that are often felt before they are explained.

“Not unshaken by storms.
Simply unwilling to let them divide us.”CONNECTION BEYOND EGO
Prachi and Udit didn’t set out to prove anything about love. They simply started living it, consciously and intentionally, one day at a time, across two cities.
They found each other after relationships that had made both of them look more deeply at themselves and their own patterns. In this second chance, they chose not simply to fall in love, but to build a home within the relationship. The difference was their conscious attention to the mechanics of connection. This was not something a book taught them. It was lived, practised and tested. And it brought them the love they had sought all their lives.
What began as a long-distance story, fuelled by late-night calls, stolen weekends and the ordinary ache of missing someone, slowly became a shared practice of choosing each other, again and again. Prachi was raising her son on her own. Udit was rebuilding his life from scratch after consciously saying goodbye to the corporate grind. They kept choosing the relationship even when it was inconvenient, and even on days when leaving appeared to be the easier option.
Prachi & Udit help people meet themselves as they build a life with another person and to show them the way to really come together as a team that’s always on the same side. Together, they also run The Emotional Wellness Initiatives, which is a natural extension of the philosophy they hold about life and love. Through TEWI they offer their clients the opportunity to discover the life imagined.
Their shared philosophy, Connection Beyond Ego, holds that real intimacy begins where two people can meet without their armour. Humsafar is their invitation to become fellow travellers in your own love story, again.
Udit and I have spent years listening to love stories. And across all of them, one thread keeps repeating. Somewhere after the first few years, the pillars that once held the relationship up quietly start to crumble.
Play disappears first. Flirting turns into negotiating, teasing into accusing, the joke you’d once have cracked becomes a jab instead. Friendship goes next: you stop being curious about your partner and start only co-managing a shared life. Connection follows. You scroll past the small moments instead of turning toward them, and “you won’t believe what happened today” gets met with merely a distracted “hmm”. And finally intimacy thins out until it’s only physical, because staying emotionally undressed with someone feels riskier than just showing them the edited, presentable version of yourself.
We’ve seen this pattern in so many couples. For over two decades, my clinical work as a psychologist and relationship therapist has shown me how couples drift, and what helps them find their way back. Through his work with couples as a mindfulness and conscious relationship coach, Udit helps partners move beyond insight and practise attention, play and presence in the way they relate. These two bodies of work come together in Humsafar, alongside the principles we have lived and practised in our own relationship.
No matter how hard a situation got, we always found something to laugh about, some place for a healthy debate, a joke to crack, some bit of nonsense to lighten the mood. And every time, we came out the other side stronger and closer than before.
Long-term love isn’t protected by grand gestures. It’s protected by these four pillars, practiced daily. That’s where the first seeds of Humsafar were sown. We wanted to create a space for couples to rediscover play, rebuild friendship, connect with enthusiasm, and cultivate intimacy beyond the bedroom, the way we did, without it ever feeling like a therapy assignment. This retreat will awaken and enable the practice of this framework within you to take home, so that you can find the aliveness in your love once again!
The full itinerary is intentionally kept as a surprise. Expect a carefully paced mix of couples retreat experiences designed to systematically rediscover your connection and strengthen your bond.
Most couples’ retreats sell you a fantasy with candlelight, ultra-performative and impractical rituals, a weekend of feeling close before real life pulls you back apart. Humsafar Retreat is built differently, on purpose. This is a one-of-a-kind retreat, designed not around performance or pseudo-spiritual theatrics, but around what relationship science actually tells us strengthens a bond over decades, not days.
Every session on this couples retreat itinerary is structured around OLIW, Proyer’s research-based model of the four forms of adult playfulness, the same body of work now shaping how psychologists globally understand what keeps long-term intimacy alive. We’ve drawn just as deliberately from the attachment research that explains why couples drift, and from positive-psychology studies on what makes connection resilient, not just repaired.
But nothing here will feel like couples therapy. This is relationship science translated into lightness: games, rituals of touch, playful engagement, moments to make you laugh and choose each other again, backed by frameworks usually reserved for clinical rooms. You don’t need to be “struggling” to need this. In fact, the couples who benefit most are often the ones who’d call themselves fine, because fine is exactly the plateau this retreat is built to interrupt.

Something shifts when two people relearn how to laugh together on purpose. Couples leave with a lighter, more effortless rhythm in daily life. Small frictions dissolve faster, and there’s more room for humour where tension used to sit.
This retreat sharpens your mutual attunement on purpose. You’ll leave more in sync, because good relationships need active practice to stay this good.
Comfortable relationships have a way of narrowing into logistics: schedules, chores, decisions. Here, we deliberately reopen the door to genuine curiosity, the kind that made you want to know everything about each other in the beginning.
Stability is a genuine strength, but it can trade away adventure for autopilot. This retreat is designed to interrupt that trade, giving you a taste of the unpredictability and shared risk-taking that originally built your bond.
You won’t just remember what being together felt like. You’ll leave with the habit of creating it yourselves, long after the retreat ends.
